The disease of "Public Health"

Recommended Posts

This is an article too long to quote direct;y

It is concerned with the criticism of our lifestyles by "health advocates", who exaggerate the effects of everything we do, and want to legislate away our freedoms.

If we legislate to forbid all tobacco smoking, we will save XXX lives.

If we legislate to ban rock-climbing and tree-climbing, we will save XXX lives.

If we ban going out in boats and going to the beach or the riverbank we will save XXX lives

But we will have lost a lot of enjoyment of life!

Finally, remember those that make up "for sins that they're inclined to

"By banning those that they've no mind to"

(BTW, I was amused to see that as I typed the topic title, I was offered "What's happening at the bottom of the Moor" as a relevant existing thread)
