Recent Immigrants make "net contribution" to finances

I don't think anyone would dispute that. Although they are selective about the balance sheet. But that is only relevant to EU immigration. The opposite is true when considering none EU immigrants as the links earlier have shown.

That website is run by Andrew Jaspan, a man who was such a good editor of the Australian newspaper "the Age" that journalists at the paper unanimously passed a motion accusing him of undermining their ability to report without fear or favour. 4 months later he was sacked. Plus how can you expect an Australian-British person to be neutral on the topic of immigration?

Ask normal people who do normal jobs if they think that immigrants contribute to the country and you will get short shrift. And the days when people were prepared to believe their leftist "betters" over their own eyes ears and judgment are long gone.

Next came an astounding admission from The Sun newspaper, in a teeny paragraph, that it had no evidence for its panic story about 600,000 “health tourists” apparently using our NHS. Others in the right-wing press had also sold us this new reason to hate strangers within our shores. The truth is that vast numbers of foreigners pay for treatment and keep hospitals solvent; and the figure for those receiving free treatment is 18 times lower than the public was given. Lies, lies and massaged statistics, that’s how this debate is now run. The methods used for the news management of immigration are those employed against the poor, disabled and unemployed. For our democracy to live, it seems, certain groups must be crushed.

I wouldn't believe anything that the sun, daily telegraph or daily mail said. I'd be more surprised if they went a day without reporting yet another "scandal" about immigration.

Indeed the Murdoch owned Sun is hardly neutral on the subject.....

Who are these 'normal people' you keep mentioning? How would they be in a position to know how much immigrants contribute?!

You don't strike me as 'normal' and I don't know anyone personally who has views as extreme as yours, and don't worry they're not lefties or Guardian readers...just 'normal people' :)
