Recent Immigrants make "net contribution" to finances

Recommended Posts

I've been arguing this for years on here yet people still seem to want to blame a lot of our problems on people moving from abroad.

At the risk of being controversial, isn't about time now to turn the attention away from recently arrived immigrants and to start to look at the problems within the indigenous population.

at the risk of being controversial, seeing as the U.S. and Western countries took in by far the hugest share of the world's immigrants over the past century. It is now time for the rest of the world to step up to the challenge. The time has come to redirect immigrants towards Asia, Latin America, some parts of Africa and the muslim world. Just think, it would bring the joys of diversity to the many countries that don't have it today.:D

And then lets see how tolerant they are when their indigenous people are about to become extinct.

This is why we should be welcoming our EU neighbors to our country as not only do they have a shared culture and history, but they contribute more to the country as a whole.

It is all a bit of a nonsense anyhow. Of course recent immigrants make a net contribution. They generally arrive having been educated at another nations expense. They will also work for a while before they start to take pensions etc. It is a short term phenomena. Once their kids hit the education system and they hit the pensions system any short term gain goes out the window, along with the money spent on educating folk in the UK only to see them clear off to work abroad as the UK becomes a haven for immigrants and health tourists.

I've no idea but the report is a macro one, it refers to immigration generally. It also doesn't include the social/cultural benefits of immigration in which case I can think of one very notable Somalian immigrant who's made significant contributions in the field of athletics.

What percentage is that of all the Somalians in the UK.

So why hasn't the produce that these immigrants pick for peanuts come down in price?

Doesn't it tell you something when you can get more on benefits than you can by working.

Wake up smell the Coffee.

Ask the farmers, retailers and wholesalers, nothing to do with immigrant workers, and neither are British on benefits either.

Exactly, there is much hype about immigration and immigrants, it seems that certain institutions and some politicians feel the need to spin positive about such, because much of the general populace sees the negative !

..because certain institutions and politicians told them so ;)

And that is when the cultural differences will hit home unless there is integration. And it is the same group struggling to make a net contributing that are failing to integrate.

Well get out there and integrate with them then!

White Flight shows us who the ones are that don't want to integrate.

That's what comes with the negative propaganda of the ones with the agendas on the EU and immigration.............if you tell lies often enough, they become the truth...............that is what the far right are trying to spin,to make lies into the truth.

Of course the indigenous people do not want to integrate into another culture but it isn't their responsibility to. It is the responsibility of the guests to play by the hosts rules if they want to be welcome.

You are making some assumptions that I think are incorrect.

The fact is, migrants from within the EU have more rights to benefits in the UK than those who come from outside, but they on the whole take out less then they put in. This is reversed when you look at the people from outside of the EU.

This is my largest bugbear when it comes to immigration. Some groups seem less keen to integrate with the UK culture. Some groups such as the west Indian communities integrated with the British culture. They didn't abandon their roots, but they managed to carve out a place within British society and we are all better off for it.

How can they integrate with people who aren't there to integrate with........the White Flighters. How do you know if the 'guests' have not already integrated but the White Flighters don't want to be there with them........integrated or not.Seems to me like the White Flighters just don't like foreigners.........it's xenophobia.
