Marine found guilty of murder

Recommended Posts

No. I think we could have detained him indefinitely at great expense, but that would be inhumane and would also put our troops at greater risk.

Good, so we've moved on from either having the choice of killing the prisoners or letting them go free. The question does need asking, do you disagree with how the British Armed forces have conducted themselves during times of conflict in relation to how they managed their prisoners?

Have you ever considered that you may actually be supporting the wrong side in this conflict, because your values do seem to be at odds to this countries.

They would execute him, and our troops know that if caught they will very likely be executed, its war not a came of soccer.

Taliban execute 15 Frontier Constabulary personnel

Taliban execute, behead soldiers in South Waziristan

Handcuffed, blindfolded and shot in the back of the head: Taliban releases horrific video of executions of 15 Pakistani soldiers

We know all this, but if you engage in this preposterous 'war on terror' you're likely to encounter people who'll treat you inhumanely...behaving like them sort of defeats the object.

It is our values that will lead us to victory in this war on terror, if we abandon them in our pursuit of victory it will only lead to more wars, more bloodshed and ultimately defeat.

Locking someone up indefinitely or letting them suffer and die slowly from horrendous wounds is inhumane, sending someone swiftly to their God is about as humane as you can get.

I suppose you are the type that would watch a poor bird die painfully instead of breaking its neck.

It is your values that will drag on for longer than necessary and cause the suffering of many more people.

Fair enough. However, the Royal Marine agreed to operate under the rules of the British Armed forces, so he cannot complain when he is held accountable to those rules.
