PhilipTheMus
Who & what are Mancs? I'm not sure, but they probably have quite a lot of blood. Maybe vampires?
The Joker
Who & what are Mancs? A native of Manchester. Usually wears a single earing in one ear and has been known to go rioting in the city centre on occasions. The blokes are worse.
vinyl
I now live in York and was only comparing the differences to York folks and Sheffield ones on Friday night! York is a fantastic town, especially near the centre, and the Rowntree Park very beautiful, but Ive found that if you catch someone's eye as you're going about your business they generally look away, whereas in Sheffield they'll usually nod or greet you. The folk in York probably aren't as used to seeing black faces around the place as they are in Sheffield. I can't say I've noticed any difference. But like Mel says. The house prices up there are way higher than Sheffield.
Anna B
There's a lot more money and class in north yorkshire. Better manners.
Super Hans
North Yorkshire is country, old buildings...small villages, South Yorkshire is or was recently industrial, factories, working class.
poppet2
and on the other hand South Yorkshire looks quite rough with many chavs who are loud, messy, lazy...? Probably something to do with the amount of social & council housing in South Yorkshire compared to North Yorkshire.
Nagel
Why is North Yorkshire such a lovely place (York, Harrogate, Whitby, Scarborough) full of friendly people (doesn't matter if they are English, Polish, Spanish, Italian, Lithuanian, white, black, Chinese, etc.) and on the other hand South Yorkshire looks quite rough with many chavs who are loud, messy, lazy...? How about Middlesbrough? That's about as rough as it gets and that's North Yorkshire.
Jeffrey Shaw
How about Middlesbrough? That's about as rough as it gets and that's North Yorkshire. Should be Cleveland.
vinyl
Should be Cleveland. Correct. Hartlepool is a bit crap as well and that isn't in North Yorkshire either.
Nagel
Are you saying Middlesbrough isn't in N. Yorkshire? Better check again because it is. Cleveland was abolished ages ago.
