EccleRd22
Though Elvis only ever performed five times outside of the States in his entire career (the gigs were clocked up on a three day visit to Canada in 1957), he arguably came far closer to playing Sheffield's legendary Fiesta Club than any other UK venue. Now forty years on, a version of the gig that nearly happened is about to happen to celebrate the launch of Neil Anderson's 'No Siesta 'Til Club Fiesta' book about the legendary venue. Jim Santana, one of Europe's leading Elvis tribute artists, will play the king of rock'n'roll. Guests are set to include many former members of Fiesta staff and the venue's legendary 'chicken in a basket' is on the menu! There'll be a DJ playing popular songs from the Fiesta disco, book signing and much more!!! The event is taking place at Genting Club - the casino venue sited just across the road from where the Fiesta originally stood. Tickets are just £16 each (which includes chicken in a basket meal with vegetarian and scampi options available + a complimentary £5 chip to spend in the casino!). To buy tickets call 0114 223 3777 or visit Sheffield City Hall box office. http://www.thestar.co.uk/what-s-on/gigs-music/big-o-after-big-meal-1-6235480
