geared
This scam or variations on it has been going on for years. I remember a guy I was living with getting the e-mails on eBay and this is going back 8 years now. They even had setup a fake copy of the DHL website to try and add to the authenticity. L00b
.. but how is it different to someone signing for a parcel from the post office/courier service and then saying it wasn't them that did it?Because in this instance, under eBay/Paypal rules, the fault would lie with the Post Office/Courier, not the seller. And eBay/Paypal would side with the seller. Had this happen to me with an eBay buyer, who claimed he'd not received the item, wanted reimbursing and left me a neg feedback just about right away, before we even talked about it. I'd sent the parcel recorded, as always, to the buyer's address as recorded on eBay and Paypal (same address), and had proof of delivery. His comms sounded dishonest, what with a story of him moving house between placing the winning bid and the delivery (less than week later), etc. Needless to say, eBay told him to do one, and removed the neg feedback (specific procedure for this).
