SpikeMac
Well yes I could but I wanted you to provide another link to a Labour Party member ... say that the current leadership was a bit crap and he wouldn't give them any more cash. :D But you are being intellectually dishonest to link these two things. Not a surprise really.
999tigger
Think youll find the co op group lost £559 million in the first 6 months of this year and have £1.3 billion worth of debt. This is due to poor lending and a poor takeover of Britannia. Oy is mostly down to poor lending and bad debt. Instead of the divi they will be offering " The Co-op has announced details of a separate rewards scheme that will see members offered 10% vouchers that can be saved and used as a cash equivalent in the group's 2,800 food stores before Christmas Eve. If a Co-operative member spends £30 they will be given a voucher worth £3. Vouchers can be collected between 18 November and 15 December. And to think it's only a few months ago that they had their ambitious plans to buy part of Lloyds Bank. Now they cannot afford to pay their own dividend and they've had to flog part of their bank. What a mess.
caparo
But you are being intellectually dishonest to link these two things. Not a surprise really. No just keeping folk like you glued to a computer on a Saturday night. You should have tried the Green Hop at the 3 Tuns tonight. Sensational. Happ Hazzard
Chesterfield Co-Op shut down a few months back. Very sad but the store seemed to be stuck in the past. Retailers have to keep up with what people want from a store otherwise they will be gone.
JFKvsNixon
It seems that the Co-operatives bank's former chairman worries are continuing after it's reported that the Methodist Minister was filmed buying cocaine, crystal meth and ketamine! This is after he had resigned as chairman in June 2013 to take responsibility for a £1.5bn capital shortfall that left the Co-op group in such trouble. caparo
Looks like it. A personal tragedy. How many more like him in the banking sector though? As the guy was a card carrying member of the Labour Party and a Labour Councillor it sort of makes a mockery of that slogan beloved of Labour supporters..."Tory bankers".
