ECCOnoob
One wonders why such places as Manchester and others have plenty of outdoor markets? Where are all those? Can only think of Arndale Market ??? ---------- Post added 02-05-2015 at 22:08 ---------- I agree with all that. So why destroy the Market area. Because it was a decaying mess that nobody was using. It was at the wrong end of town It was not near the shops It was an expensive eyesore that the majority of the city residents were delighted got closed down. By taking away the Traditional area were the less well off shopped, conversed and used daily then YOU have taken away the very soul of the City in the hope that the people who used and loved these areas will some how end up supping capachino's while chomping on Sushi. This City is not just for the new kids ont he block ,the ones that actually built and made it famous should also be considered when planners take their pencil from behind a well scrubbed ear. ECCOnoob
and now the new moor market is an expensive £60 million pounds ,of tax payers money , that no one is using So what would you prefer? Something had to be done that's clear. Leave the rotting corpse of castle market and their handful of customers? Have no market at all? Or attempt to create a brand new modern retail block in the right location which has now attracted new tenants and is a key part of the overall improvements to the area?
