apelike
isnt some of the best meat hung for about three weeks, and all meat is hung for some length of time other wise its virtually inedible. If I remember correctly the EU put a ban on that practice. There used to be a stall in Castle Market that sold Barnsley chops from Lamb that was hung for a few weeks. Doing so enhances the flavour and also tenderises it.

Martin C
If it wasn't for the supremely and uniquely excellent Beer Central I wouldn't give a flying ***** whether this obscure Southern outlier of the city centre lived or died. May as well be in Dore or Dronfield as far as I'm concerned. Obviously much better/more convenient for others but I can't work up any enthusiasm for it whatsoever. I've bought the odd birthday card from a card shop, beer and more beer from Beer Central. But there's no hope in Hell I'd ever walk 30 minutes or so (each way) to buy food that's available much more conveniently from a supermarket in or around the centre of Sheffield. Hope Chesterfield/Dronfield are sharing the costs.
ECCOnoob
Never read such a load of guff in all my life. Castlegate is city centre but somehow The Moor is on the border with Derbyshire in your eyes??? :loopy::loopy:

dutch
Never read such a load of guff in all my life. Castlegate is city centre but somehow The Moor is on the border with Derbyshire in your eyes??? :loopy::loopy: Sheffield busses cut city centre in half. When you travel from south/north or east west etc. etc. The buses often stop for a long pause, break or driver change at the city centre. These delays often take 5 to 15 minutes where it takes the same time to travel the last two stops as it took to travel the first 4 miles. This often makes it feel like when something is in opposite side of city centre it is better to be avoided you don't feel welcome there it can take upto 30 min extra return for that little tiny two or three stop journey through town. Thursday is a junk market selling things like they do in a car-boot Sunday morning, 100+ stalls on both sides of the market possibly, all selling junk. did you go in the newly built market its as good/bad as Sheffield's
