Diets are actually worse then ever before with all the junk and processed food available and obesity crisis which is predicted that half the population will be obese and many other sources saying kids will not get to the same age as their grandparents did. The biggest killer is heart disease, this is what the eldery are suffering from, the same people who may not had enough food available after the war but at least the food was not junk food so now with junk food added, heart disease will get even bigger and no matter how time goes on, if you have heart disease in your 60's and 70's then you will not live to 100. The reports saying people born today are expected to likely live to 100 is just bull, there is more pollution on our street caused by transport then any other time and it will just keep getting worse so no its just bull talk. The average person who has to retire at 77 will get a year on the pension at the most. Can you back any of this up with evidence or links or is it all your opinion? Genuine question.. Anna B
Pensions are not a 'benefit.' People have been paying into them for many years.
erebus
THere are 5 million children living in poverty, so their biological development is somewhat stunted, so they will never reach 60 or 100. With luck only the rich will rule us in a few dacades to prove that diet affects life expectancy. When on el;ooks at political statements and one looks at the wider facts, on realises that the governemnt just want our money, to give to the banks. It suggests, that they are aware most people will never reach retirment age, and by pushing the age up with luck next to no one qualifies. If I was a ******/banker that is the sort of policy I would push on a government reliant as it always has been on banks. One can blackmail when the other party is in debt, and has little understanding of maths. Hence a chancellor with a crap degree in history, so much for Eaton education if those in power are the quality of moron leading the country. No wonder 33,000 old people dies in the cold snap above the average figures, care homes provide crematorium with profit, as does care in the community, although which particular was never specified. Cyclone
Are you talking about relative poverty? If so, that doesn't have any implications for their development.
