Was the BBC's coverage of Mandela's death over the top?

Recommended Posts

Look North, a local 30 min news program devoted twenty of them to the story, totally unexceptable. This morning i bought the only paper without him on the front cover now we have the funeral to look forward to,great.

Do you mean unacceptable or unexceptionable? They have almost opposite meanings.

They were saying what an impact he made on his visits,no mention he was a convicted terrorist, wonder if he would have got the same coverage had he been a white South African.

He was convicted of "conspiracy to overthrow the state" after the ANC party (and the Communist party of SA) was declared illegal. For most of its existence up until the South African National Party came to power in 1948, it followed peaceful policies. The increasingly oppressive apartheid laws and violent suppression by the SA security forces provoked the violent response from the ANC.

Way over the top in the coverage of a convicted terrorist....

Weren't you in the BNP, a party founded by John Tyndall who had a conviction for paramilitary organising? Funny that.

Wonder if it will be the start a new religion.

He's hoping the thousand complaints will start a thousand years religion.

Way over the top in the coverage of a convicted terrorist, still its the BBC so you kinda expect it.Still they had over thousand complaints about their OTT coverage.

Do you consider a judgement made by an apartheid legal system to be safe?
