GLASGOWOODS
Remind us where you're from? Er Sheffield????? It was never described as a quiche on the school menu. Always cheese flan (well at Foxhill primary and Yewlands school)
Itrytoplease
We never had a "Tuck" shop at my school but i remember the local "corner shop" selling single Kensitas fags at 3d each (twice the packet price) they also sold what we called Josh sticks which were 6 or 7 inches long fags on a par with "Woodbine's" . Their only customers were us school kids aged between 11 and 15 yet it didn't seem so wrong at the time, Nowadays suffering with C.O.P.D. i'D (forgive the pun) Shop the bloke to the police in a heart beat. AMR67
Stop being a snob. It's flan and it tasted great...... Quite right!!. Cheese pie was my favourite in the 70's. When I started working in a school this year I couldn't believe my eyes - cheese pie still on the menu!! and it tastes exactly the same.

When I started working in a school this year I couldn't believe my eyes - cheese pie still on the menu!! and it tastes exactly the same. With chips n beans. I was a dinner monitor and responsible for dishing out the grub to kids a few years younger. Me and another monitor had to collect the food and serve it at the table. We used to tell the wee one's the food was full of bogeys and flys etc: So they didn't bother. Then me and my pal would scoff as much as possible. Ps.....Any of you kids reading this.....I'm sorry! Just didn't want you all to grow up obese.
