Just another example of why Leeds is now streets ahead of Sheffield, not just developing the city centre but allowing expansion out of town. Sheffield Council take note!! White rose to extend by up to 50%. So what? It stil wont be as big as meadowhall. Even if it double the number of units tomorrow it would still be 60 units short. Move along people.... Becuase they could take ideas that work for Leeds, and try to implement them in their own way which would make them work in Sheffield ? It does not hurt to take ideas and develop them to suit you're own needs. Crystal Peaks has been extended/redeveloped at least twice in it's history to my knowledge. Meadowhall had a fair large extension done too. Liverpool for example. I am all for taking on ideas from other areas, but the White Rose idea is pretty redundant as far as Sheffield goes. Why he thinks what happens in Leeds is relevant to Sheffield? The balance between Meadowhall and the city centre is a delicate one as they affect each other or more notable Meadowhall affects the city centre. Is the OP saying the CC have blocked out of town expansion at Meadowhall or they should be allowing more? Come on OP you started the thread. To block something then you have to have the businesses wanting to invest in the first place. Any linkies to projects that have been blocked?
