Jim Hardie
Same thing with Blackburn Rovers and Alan Shearer. Yes, "the club" won the title, but Alan won it for them really. They dropped through the leagues after he left. I wish Wednesday had 'dropped through the leagues' like they did.
glennC
Liverpool will never have a chance as good as they did last season, the defeat at home to Chelsea and the draw at Palace did for them, 3-0 up with about 12 minutes to go. ****-ups don't come any bigger, the only one that comes close is when Newcastle were 10-12 points in front of Man Utd at Christmas, then Ferguson got under Keegans skin with his famous "I would love it, love it, if we beat them" rant. Can you imagine any team of Fergusons letting a 3 goal lead go with a few minutes left, No I cant either. And of course there was Gerrards "This does not slip now" after they beat Man City, Oh the irony:hihi:
MAC33
The defensive pressing of Sturridge and Suarez was a big reason why they did so well last season. Noticed too this season, they create very few clear cut chances, just half chances at best. They get to the last third of the field and come unstuck. They need the vision of a Dalglish or the pace and trickery of Sturridge to get behind opposing defences. Gareth Bale is probably the best player in the world at this! cancer
I think that Balotelli has upset the team dynamics. This player is not suitable for a Liverpool player.
