So you mean like a pre university provision for the rich? Everyone knows the tories don't like social mobility unless you've got a fair bit of dosh in the first place, just look at most of their social policies over the years

 

Who said anything about "pre university provision for the rich" whatever that is....?

 

I rather suspect that most labour people like social mobility as long as the people being mobile stay good faithful Labour voters. Some don't and so we get responses like yours... :roll:

Interesting, then, that it was the Labour party that stopped what we saw as a social mobility program, and decided to keep the posh kids in posh comprehensives and poor kids in comprehensives in poor areas!

 

My aunt taught at Netherthorpe; one year they had several bright pupils; she told us that the school had been told that those kids marks were rescaled downwards, as otherwise Netherthorpe would have got more than its quota of university places. This was NOT under a tory administration.
