Your Xmas dinner? Turkey Or Chicken? Maybe Spam?

Recommended Posts

I will probably have a ham sarnie, since my OH is working on Christmas day and I need to be around to drop him off and pick him up and at 2pm I shall be dropping him at work so there's no point in thinking that I can actually cook a decent meal. He will be too tired to eat a full meal at 10pm when he's back home again so he will probably have a sandwich or cheese on toast too.

Still, he'll get a day off on the 28th, so we may get a proper meal then.

He's working every day between now and the 28th now actually, cos they've roped him in for Friday now too :(

He's a specialist carer for people who have very severe and combative dementia, so he is paid to be headbutted and have tables thrown at him and he must be masochistic because he says he gets job satisfaction.

Not sprouts & that's for sure . We are having Gammon for a change , might even put an egg on top except I don't think egg will go with mashed tatties. :hihi:

Take it from me, fried eggs and mashed potatoes works like a dream.

Try it, it's bloody lovely.

Xmas day is at best friends this year, and he's majorly into cooking his Sunday and Xmas dinners, has been for years. So, at a reasonable guess, full turkey, pork and beef joints, with a hill of pigs in blankets and a mountain of veg.

I will be taking Les Ragottes 2005.
I hope for you that your host does not cook poultry or fish

I will be taking a 2008 Sancerre, a 1995 Graves and a Blanc de Blancs champagne.

Spending mostly on food rather than presents this year, so our New Year's Day shall be foie gras to start, first recipe on this page (tenderloin pork) for main, second recipe on this page (cheesecake) for dessert.
