willman
Why shouldn't they laugh - it may have been at the way it was delivered as opposed to the topic in hand.

Supertramp
shock horror, left wing news paper has nothing to report so attacks people for smiling! What? The other link is a right wing blog showing pictures of left wing MPs laughing whilst tweeting about Tories laughing. So the lesson here is everyone is a ****. 999tigger
There has already been a thread on this. The clive betts thread. You have to ask yourself why has she gone without food and what have the parents been doing with the benefits money or wages?

You have to ask yourself why has she gone without food and what have the parents been doing with the benefits money or wages? The main reason people end up at food banks is because: a. They are waiting for their benefits to be processed, something that can take up to four weeks. b. A person has been sanctioned for a period of weeks and is left with nothing meanwhile. c. Also, were you aware that people are only allowed at the food banks THREE times a year?

JSA will be backdated so your crisis loan is paid off once your application is processed. b) If you can not afford food, rent, or any basics you get hardship payments if you are sanctioned it just means you have to pay them back at some stage. c) They are run by charities and that doesn't seem very charitable, if someone needs help then they need it. Obelix
It curious ins't it. When Labour were in power it was acceptable to have these places that distributed food free of charge that was about to go out of date, and that was seen as a Good Thing for food wasnt wasted, and all this stuff didn't have to go to landfill, and the supermarkets didn't have to pay landfill tax and some people got some free food and everyone was happy and rolling in puppies. Now you get the Nasty Tories, and Oh Isn't It Just Terrible trotted out, and How Can This Happen, instead of the previous message. Cynical? No it's just the usual vacuous posturing from the Left, bereft of ideas as usual so they reach for the nasty party brush because they've really no idea what else to say... Maybe they should give the crisis loan to the girl. ---------- Post added 20-12-2013 at 11:51 ---------- There has already been a thread on this. The clive betts thread. Typical SF fare though, everyone thinks the worst, ultimately it is irrelevant as the one suffering is the girl....end of.
