IMHO buying excess amounts of alcohol is a luxury (and a waste of money) but judging by a thread in one of the other forums (and a quick glance at laden supermarket trolleys) there is going to be a lot of it over the next few weeks. Same with huge, gas guzzler cars, expensive nights out and foreign holidays. Some people would prefer to forgo some or all of these and to save up in order to have their hot tub.
