4leggies
We have a blue bin (used for bottles) and a box (for paper) After the last collection of above we didn't have a box- we thought neighbour pinched or blown away, but when ive looked on street it seems no one has one now. Have these stopped? Seems bit silly with all Xmas wrapping etc has this happened to anyone else?
pintsized
Yes it happened to us a while ago, it went missing and we don't know what happened to it. Thought they had been stopped as a few people around us seemed to not have theirs too, but we contacted Veolia (or whatever their name is) and were given a replacement box the next time the blue bin collection happened. alternageek
You can order a new one for free from Veolia and they accept the requests via their website Each home is allowed 2 of these boxes, btw. We put numbers on the front of ours, since its a terraced street and they get thrown about - especially in the windy weather.

alternageek
WE've been doing clear out and such, so have had a lot of cardboard boxes; as long as theyre bundled together tightly and neatly, the bin men have been taking them beside our recycling. We've done this in the last few recycling collections with no issues
JOHN HABS
If you tend to have more paper and cardboard in your household than plastic bottles, tin cans you have the option of using your blue bin for the paper and cardboard, and your blue box for the tin cans and bottles. I would have thought that everyone knew this ?

It was well secured and I don't think it blew away as it vanished a few days later. I think when peoples do get blown away they just steal someone elses. Our cover did the same a few days after a windy day. Contact the council, they will drop off a new one for you.
