davidspd
My New Years Resolution is to get out of the house and meet more people in Sheffield (moved here about a year ago). Have been looking at both Citysocializer and Meetup Socializer for Sheffield and wondering if anyone has tried both and could tell me if they're roughly the same? I need a friendly crowd as I'm quite shy and find it difficult to make friends although I'm not antisocial. thanks

davidspd
Join a rambling/walking group ... or three. For some reason that's never really appealed to me. Should have mentioned I'm not really a big drinker, one glass of wine and I'm asleep in the corner zzzzzz
cgksheff
So what does appeal to you. Just "meeting new people" is no good. Conversation dries up very quickly. Friendships develop through sharing common activities that can be talked about afterwards. Try volunteering?
