Earsham Street sheffield 1911

Recommended Posts

The 1911 census return shows that "James Whitworth, general labourer" was living at 203 Earsham Street with his Scottish-born wife Rachel and son Harry. Here is a scan of the census page. The 1911 directory also gives James Whitworth as the householder.

after a little more digging it seems that Earsham Street has now been split in to two parts the funny part is the East part (now) is only 200 yards from where my grandmother on the same side lived, i remember it always being dark in their house (i am just 45)

and they had toilets at the end of the yard it was between Earsham street east and Petre street the name escapes me at the moment
