Conservatives raising council tax

Conservative councils planning to raise taxes in defiance of Cameron, and after Cameron criticised Labour councils for doing the same.

QUOTE:

Councils planning to raise their tax bills say they can no longer afford a freeze, citing concerns about cuts to funding from Whitehall and the rising cost of services such as elderly care.

More than half of the local authorities preparing to ignore the demands are Conservative-led. The disclosure is likely to embarrass David Cameron who last year accused Labour councils of being out of touch by raising taxes.

How else do you think the council could cope with the cut in grant from central government?

Councils are planning to raise it, they haven actually raised it yet and there is every chance they will not. Labour councils raised theirs by 1.99% to get past the rule of no more than 2%. That's more sneaky.
