ANVIL
did anyone else go? (or was it just me - again!) they'er a NYC band - they got excellent reviews from NME for their first album and they're pretty similar in some ways to the likes of killers, interpol, even maybe the cure, and they were excellent last night! well worth going if they come to sheffield again
PlanB
Yeah - i was there. They were stunning as usual! Last time they played the Leadmill they had the Killers supporting them - it baffles me how they got so big and Stellastarr didn't!
funhouse
I was there too. Seen them quite a few times. The atmosphere was a bit strange last night I thought. The crowd never really got going. I last saw them at the rescue rooms in Notts & it was heaving & the audience & band really gave it some. The killers got huge because they are instantly catchy. The only problem being that you get bored with them fairly quickly. Same goes for Franz Ferdinand, Kaiser Chiefs, Arctic monkeys etc. Rule of thumb: If you're singing along by the second listen then it'll bore the arse off you by the tenth listen.
