Any views on the renault grand scenic??

Hi illuminati9, yes the renault is a cheaper alternative to other cars such as mazda5 ect. but people are worried about electronic problems on the renault, but in all truth they are fairly easy to fix and don't really go wrong. Its a better car than the zafira I had, much more room and great for long distance as for the only beef I have with the car its very boring to drive because of the auto lights, wipers, triptronic auto box, in fact the whole cars Auto lol.

 

Thats why for short journeys and nipping around we purchased a 307cc.

 

I brought 2 scenic 1.5 and 1.9dci on 54 and 05 plate, both were great until about 80,000 when things started to go wrong. window drop off.Egr valve blocked, lost compression on one car. dashboard gone blank, stuck on hand brake, head gasket on the other. and countless of small niggles. got rid after 4 years and lost loads on both car

Grand scenics tend to have issues with the electronics in the dash display.

... and the keycard

... and all the usual suspects under the bonnet too
