Worried about Nannan

i once did a quote for a really old lady for a fence, after measuring up i told her i would take it home, work it out and pop it in the post for her, the poor old dear then asked me ''shall i pay for it now'' i tried to explain to her that i hadn't worked it out yet and that it would be with her in a couple of days but she didn't understand. i asked her if she had any family to which she replied that she hadn't. all i could think of at the time was to tell her to get a friend to look at her quotes and advise her what to do. i never heard from her again but did wonder if someone came along and took advantage of her confused state

I don't even think many of them are confused. They were born in a time when you could leave your door open for your neighbour to pop in and there was more trust. Different world, never mind a different era.

Was talking to my neighbour who's mum had got conned out of money for a supposed roof repair they are such con artists

Never mind the old, even I still get conned.

People act so dodgy and you can often tell. Either they get super excited at the fact that they are about to con you, or that they fear that you will notice and is going to get conned. Normally you can see when someone lies.

I used to challenge these people in the face and they would still deny things, even when you pointed it out. That is how much people are so "daring" these days. These days, I do not entertain them any more and just walk away. Sometimes it can be draining.

If there is something wrong with people selling door to door without permission. Then inform the 101 team and at least get them to check things out. People shouldn't knock on others' doors and harass them in their own home to be honest.

Just print one of these and display it. The signs mostly work and will reduce the number of cold callers, religious groups and charities to near zero.

A big bloke with Geordie accent and white transit just been to our neighbours house. Never seen him before round here near Crystal Peaks. If it's not him, he's got nothing to worry about.

That sounds like the geordie who came to our house, but looks like hes changed his van or owns more than one.

My neighbour said it was a transit, but my wife said it was smaller than that. He was on his own today. Lots of elderly people round here so let's hope no one was ripped off. We don't usually get trades people round here door knocking.
