Searching for a First World War Photo of Archie Shelley

We are trying to trace any family and a photograph of a Sheffield-born soldier Archie Shelley who died in the First World War. Archie served in the Grenadier Guards and was wounded in France on the 16th May 1915. Before that he worked at Neepsend Gas Works.

We are looking for descendants of his sisters and brothers - Charles and George Shelley, and Emma Mease. We think they lived in Sheffield and Chesterfield. The grand-daughter of Charles was Geraldine Mary Jepson who married James Plumb in Chesterfield in 1943.

If anyone knows grand-children of Charles, George or Emma can they please ask them to get in touch? We are hoping that a Shelley family photograph with Archie in it has been passed down the family.

We are restoring the memorial window of Archie in Walkley Community Centre. The building was the Walkley Reform Club of which Archie was a member. Each member who died in the First World War had a stained-glass window memorial with his or her photograph. The photographs are now faded so if we can find his photo they can replace it.

The Centre will hold a memorial service in August 2014 to which the families of the men will be invited.

If you know of his surviving family can you please contact them and please post here or click on my username to send me a private message.
