Mecky
This is happening and we need to educate people and prosecute those who persists. I have seen signs put up in places to try and stop this happening but some of our stocks are being hit hard. A sign won't stop them and the areas are too extensive to be patrolled by police or wardens. The same goes for home-grown vegetables which I also hear are being nicked. Jason Bourne
Maybe they should be encouraged to eat pigeon or chavs. Supplies of both are plentiful. Maybe the Roma gypsies should eat each other... for the same reason.
jfish1936
In Australia, carp are a pest fish. "Carp Outs, Carp Culls, Carp Kills, Carp Musters etc. - such events are rapidly gaining in popularity. One of the benefits of these popular family attended events is that they introduce kids to fishing. They are also shown that the carp is an undesirable species that should be removed from rivers and lakes in the short term." http://www.fishingworld.com.au/news/carp-the-australian-story So we would probably rejoice to see our migrants fidhing them out! But it's a totally different ecosystem out there. Over here people who own these ponds are spending good money on these fish and a not insignificant number of Eastern Europeans are hoiking them out ( often using illegal methods like long lining) and ruining people's livlihoods. With rivers it's less clear cut legally whether you can take certain fish for the pot but it's harder to police and far more damaging. And it's not just carp either. Claire_
So why are we bothered if hungry, socially disadvantaged people want to catch and eat it? They are welcome to it, as far as I'm concerned. Then its a good job you arent in charge. ---------- Post added 15-01-2014 at 12:57 ---------- Go and stop them then....whinger. Why resort to insults? tinfoilhat
I was just thinking that it's surely better for a fish which is caught to be killed and eaten, than be thrown back in the river distressed, with its mouth ripped and bleeding from the hook, to face probable drowning or starvation . You clearly know nowt.
