JFKvsNixon
...Lotus, McClaren, the harrier jumpjet, HMS Astute and Ambush. Britain was/is up there with the very best. Isn't the Harrier more of a joint partnership between us and the Americans? We started development, and the Americans helped to redeveloped it in the mid 1980s. spilldig
Id rather keep buying things cheaper from china and India where people will work all day for a couple of quid, keeping the prices of goods down. Too true because whenever pressure has been put on and got one of these places closed down the comment has been, we are worse of now because you made us unemployed. ricgem2002
But made in Britain can mean foreign owened, whilst it's good some jobs are being created, it's not so good British workers may be sudising industries abroad, have profit moving abroad and large multinationals are desperately trying to avoid paying UK tax. maybe the gov need to change how it taxes these companies . i read on the net a judge ordered a business man who was trying to claim these tax loopholes that he pay the full amount. his reasons were the bloke lived here/ made money here and pay the tax here seems good enough to me. maybe he should be in charge of the tax office
