Houblon £50 note to be withdrawn-worth saving one?

Bit trivial perhaps, but, anybody know if it would be worth saving one of said notes? You can actually get the face value back of any note (going back in time) that has been issued by the Bank Of England, by posting it back.

 

So, you lose value with inflation in that respect BUT! would the value increase in a private sale after it has been withdrawn???? Is it worth it???? Anybody...

I'd hazard a guess it wouldn't be worth anything on its own, maybe it would if it was part of a collection of previous coins/notes.

3 million other people have the same idea, they will never become rare thus never be valuable (apart from its actual monetary value)

You'd need an uncirculated one for it to be any value above it's face value & then only if there was some kind of rarity. People do collect banknotes though, like coins & stamps.

Quality is everything tho, as had been said it's only really worth something if it's un-circulated but even then it's the odd mis-prints and stuff that attract more attention as they are much more rare and interesting.

 

If it's a current note, thats been in circulation it won't be worth more than face value.
