verona
You can't go wrong with a Spanish red from Aldi. Most them have won awards and you can pick one up for about £
Pritt Stick
A nice Pinot Noir in my humble.
tasha_78_1
Morrisons own brand Chianti is very nice. Not too full bodied, light and fruity but not sweet
annbaker
These two from tescos are yummy. Worth having a browse through their on line wine shop. Just a shame oddbins ahs gone cos they'd have let you have a wee taste first http://www.tesco.com/wine/product/browse/default.aspx?N=8132+4294967175+4294967176+8120
lectrolove
I think it might be best to narrow it down to Chilean dry red under a tenner. Give me a list of two or three to go shoping with Try something from the Casillero del Diablo range.

Super Hans
This, CIMAROSA South African Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon, best bottle of wine I've had under £8. Don't be put off by the £4.49 price, I could fill the cellar with it.

Mecky
I'd go for something like Beaujolais to start trying wine drinking with. Personally I like a glass of Beaujolais with spaghetti bolognese. Don't store red wine in the fridge and don't store it in a place where the temperature fluctuates rapidly. The best advice is to leave the wine in the glass for 20-30 minutes before drinking or 40-60 minutes for an open bottle.
Ducky22
Yellow tail Australian Shiraz is a decent red in my opinion and costs around £
