Micra
No, you don't. The Sales of Goods act does NOT apply to private sales. The only protection you have is against fraud or misrepresentation, ie if they lie about it to you. But if they simply don't say or don't know, then it's tough. yes it becomes a civil matter even better if lied in ad etc
yellowperil
Ive its from an auction id leave it too. If its got full checkable service history thats a bonus but id hpi it to death and make sure its not on the vcar. (vehicle condition alert register). Could easily be a cat c or d thats been repaired. denomis
Anyway some real advice. If you're not in a rush to buy just hang on a while and see when the price gets cut if he cant shift it.
angel22
That copper orange colour would be a negative rather than a positive point for me. Really? I love the colour! Don't like the leather seats though!
yellowperil
Still hpi it yourself and check vcar though. Cars go to auctions for a reason usually, not always a bad reason but better safe than sorry. Youll still need to have a good look at it regardless of the results. Not really bothered anyway as he's got his own stereo to put in. ---------- Post added 20-01-2014 at 12:26 ---------- Ive its from an auction id leave it too. It's got full service history and receipts for everything. I believe it belonged to an older person that has passed away. ---------- Post added 20-01-2014 at 12:28 ---------- Anyway some real advice. He's been without a car for almost a month now and he's been using mine which isn't ideal as I've been having to catch the bus to work or get a lift with my sister. ---------- Post added 20-01-2014 at 12:29 ---------- if its that much of a minter why is it still up for sale? He's only had it for a few days.
yellowperil
What would an older person have a car that colour and spec for? Did the dealer tell you that?
angel22
What would an older person have a car that colour and spec for? Did the dealer tell you that? Why wouldn't they?! My dads 60 and he loves this car, he'd have it himself if he was looking for a new car. No, the dealer didn't tell me.
Boothybabe
No it won't, just because you can rip the seats out and flog them for decent money doesn't mean the car is instantly worth 400-500 more  A car is worth much less than it's component parts. Point scoring over seats, shame
