poppet2
Now this is getting ridiculous, despite the fact that they are working. But don't worry homeowners, your property is still rising in value, so you can still jump for joy at the prospect of your children living with you forever! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-25827061
truman
If you look at the graph on here it's been on a continual rise since about 2002 http://www.theguardian.com/news/datablog/2014/jan/21/record-numbers-young-adults-living-with-parents
Cyclone
Did you not read the title, or did you deliberately post a misleading title (by misleading I mean it's out and out not true). More than 25% of young people share parents' homes Unless you're claiming that all adults are actually "young people". ---------- Post added 22-01-2014 at 11:38 ---------- Interestingly, if it's only just getting ridiculous, then what was it 1996? the highest proportion since 1996 Are we in fact just seeing a regression to the norm? salsafan
Why don't people then live in shared housing? Because you have to learn to be in your own and also to save money. It is what is now on offer because of the rising house prices. Most people learn the value of money when they see money depletes so quickly. Are we in fact just seeing a regression to the norm? The article states quite clearly that young people are defined in this case in the age category from 20 - 34, so what's wrong with that definition? ---------- Post added 22-01-2014 at 11:43 ---------- It's not that high a % when compared to other EU countries either Or the Asian community, even in this country. Maybe we can learn a lesson from them.
