vwkittie
The Diesels can do mega miles as well, quite common to see them on 200K or more. Petrols too, mine's nearly 190k
angel22
Personally I wouldn't touch anything with a water leak into the footwells, first one sounds like too much of a gamble though. What does it smell like? You should be able to tell if it's coolant or not. I own a leaky mk2 golf and it's a flipping nightmare tbh, you have to love the car to put up with it. Where are you looking for these cars? I'd try enthusiasts forums if you haven't already, if you don't mind paying for one that's been properly cared for. It's not coolant, just the door seals letting in rain. Someone else has bought that one now anyway. He's looking everywhere, mainly auto trader but also on forums. He doesn't want a modified one as it puts his insurance up too much. He's got a budget of around £2000 to spend on a car. ---------- Post added 29-01-2014 at 13:41 ---------- The VAG diesels aren't far off tho VAG?? hyper
The dealer didn't know about the wet carpets, ....... They weren't soaking, just damp to the touch. maybe ?? or maybe that was the best he could do after some time with the hair drier. If I'm being generous, I'd say its a poor dealer who doesn't know the condition of the cars he sells. If I'm being harsh, I reckon he's pulling a fast one
alchresearch
I just told him about this blue one, he's already seen it but apparently the diesels aren't as fast as petrol Is he going to be on the road for driving to places or racing? If he really wants a faster car and go down the chav route he could get it remapped.

geared
Volkswagen Audi Group? Yep thats the one, they own: Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porsche, SEAT, Škoda and Volkswagen That Seat Leon you were looking at is just a VW Golf in a Spanish suit, underneath it's pretty much the same thing.
