tinfoilhat
We went to see The Martian on Sunday. Wasn't expecting much but it was pretty good. I can see it becoming a new version of Apollo 13....one of those films you can happily watch over again. It had our very own Sean Bean in it and he played a character called Mitch Henderson...couldn't help but wonder if the Henderson was deliberate! Why, was he a bit saucy? Sorry. sgtkate
The Last Witch Hunter - Went under duress. Appalling acting, plot, fight scenes, pretty much everything. Really can't think of much to recommend really. 2/
tinfoilhat
Penguins of Madagascar. Cartoon based on characters from another cartoon which in turn had their own cartoon series. Cumberbatch did one of the voices. 4/
TORONTONY
My wife hates Russell Crowe, and I always say that I have never seen him in a bad movie yet. Then on Sunday night I scanned Netflix and came up with Body of Lies, what a shambles 2/10, the 2 rating is only because Crowe was not that bad or it would have been 0. Funky_Gibbon
Spectre 8/10 Enjoyed it although I wasn't as blown away as the reviews said I should have been (except for the opening scene, which was superb). The plot introduced a lot of interesting things but rarely developed many of them... it felt like the first part of a two part story.
top4718
The Abandoned - 6/10 - Spooky goings on when a woman who was (you guessed it) abandoned as a baby returns to her native Russia, atmospheric and creepy if a little confusing at times. j0e1
Sicario a masterclass in sustained tension, with brilliant performances from a great cast and an incredible film score... the cinematography is bound to pick up a few awards. 9/
Jeffrey Shaw
Scouts' Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse: It received abysmal reviews "The Times" gave it a very unusual 'no stars' rating. Despite that, and despite it being appallingly sexist, it's not all that bad an example of its genre. 6/10.
top4718
Interstellar - 6/10 - Loved Nolans Batman films but didn't like Inception and this falls into a similar category, clap trap dressed up as profundity, it was reasonably enjoyable to an extent then disappears up its own backside for the last 40mins.
