'Spellbound' with Gregory Peck and Ingrid Bergman. A cracking film, another one of Alfred Hitchcock's classics.

I love these old films, beautifully acted and real escapism. Well worth a watch.

I'm getting dafter.

Last night on Talking pictures was an horror film 1958 "The Blob"

For some reason I couldn't resist watching it.

I couldn't stop laughing at it, I'll give it 1/10 for the comedy effect.

And I'll give it another 1 cus it was Steve Mc'queens first starring role..    2/10.

There was a remake in the 80's which is pretty good.

Went to a preview screening last week at Curzon to watch "Cuckoo"

Cinema is great 8/10 (points deducted for price of beer £15.50 for 2 Madri)

Cuckoo - 2/10 bloody awful, meandering and walked out after an hour as it was so slow

£15.50 for 2 Madri, it's brewed in Tadcaster! Another trendy lager that people pay over the odds for is Cruzcampo, it's brewed in Manchester. I once got paid to blind test a load of popular lagers, Stella won.

for those who want to try a new place the Arc Cinema in rotherham is finally open on the new forge island complex. Hardly been promoted at all which is why only about 40 tickets have been sold even though tickets are £4 tomorrow for national cinema day and they have 9 screens i think.

Captain Phillips

The film is based on a true story about the American ship, Maersk Alabama hijacking in 2009 by Somalian pirates.

The main actor is Tom Hanks who is the Captain of the ship, brilliant acting from Hanks. I enjoyed this film about modern day piracy on the high seas.

What the pirates did was wrong and it was for the money but you also get to know a bit about why they were doing it.
