I thought this was a proper dogs breakfast of a film, written to make Americans feel like they're part of the Harry Potter universe. It didn't draw on Harry Potter or 1920s New York - both rich pallets - with any kind of success. The two leads didn't do much for me at all (I don't get the fuss with Eddie Redmayne - he was awful) maybe they were miscast (I reckon someone like Matt smith would have done a better job) but the female lead was so poorly written any one would have struggled, although the two main support were fun. Colin Farrell was miscast as well. Nice effects as you'd expect but at two odd hours it felt longer. nikki-red Posted September 3, 2017 Share Posted September 3, 2017 Before I wake 8.5/10 A little boys dreams come to life, but that also means so do his nightmares. It was on Netflix under horror, but I think fantasy would be a better description. It does have a few scary/jumpy bits, but its also quite sad. I really liked it.
