Really?

I thought the original sucked.

Still, I'll watch the sequel 'cos Idris Elba's in it.

Watched Idris in, No good deed and Concrete Cowboy on Netflix,  great actor, does the American Accent really well.

The Descent   8/10

Id forgotten what a good film this is.

A group of women going spelunking in the Appalachian Mountains, it doesn’t go too well.

Theres not many good British horror films but this was Neil Marshall’s 2nd (after Dog Soldiers).

Edge of your seat stuff from start to finish (the Uk ending is different to the US one)

Watched again myself recently, very good and definitely one of the Best Brit horror films, its a pity Neil Marshall lost his way.

To Be Someone   1/10

The supposed follow- on to Quadraphenia.

I'm only giving it a the one because there's a powder Blue Cadillac in it.

Had to be a big ask to match Quadraphenia, but this doesn't even try.

A few sharp suits and a few Scooters don't compensate for the Pathetic drug running

story line.

Reviews state its a 'Light weight Romp'

I read that as 'Despite the Hype' - 'it don't work'

Definitely one to Avoid

Completly agree Descent 1 and 2 both good films, usually some sequels aren't as good as the first one but a different case with these two.

Throw back creatures in a cave!

Mutant Dog soldiers!

Not my thing at all,  but

Each to his own (& why not)

(I'd have you all watching films with big Yankee cars or set in't 50's  )

HTSBO loves all that 'Lets go to a Cabin in the Woods'

Abandoned Mental Asylum.

'We're lost ' 'Lets split up' rubbish.

So   'Now for Something Completely Different'

Watched Monty Python Holy Flying Circus (Amazon Prime)

90 mins light heart'd back stage look at

the controversy their film 'Life of Brian' had, even before it was shown.

Expertly cast and food for thought.

The Humour throughout is all Python and succeeds in turning it away from being an actual documentary.

I'm giving it a high 8/10

Gardens of the Night.   9/10

Really well made film about a terrible, still all too relevant subject.
2 children are abducted and sold out to people, suffering years of abuse. They then end up living on the streets.

The writer/director, Damian Harris based his story on the kids, counsellors, police and pimps he met during two years of research.

Its fantastically written and the acting is great, even by the young children.
