'Mrs Harris goes to Paris' with Lesley Manville.  Set in the 1950s.

Typical small British film, but enjoyable. 7/10

I saw that last year, thought it was brill and promptly bought the DVD.

Apparently it's a remake of an old movie, the original starred the late Angela Lansbury I gather.

Bull 7.5/10

For a low budget British crime movie, this is quite good!

No acting awards forthcoming and creators spent all the £500k it cost to make...from the looks of it.

Lots of blood and gory scenes, because the main character is on a revenge mission and doesn't hold back.

Fall

A survival film. Two women climb a tall radio tower in the desert and they are unable to climb back down.  A predictable film and hard going at times.

6/10

Gets a 3/10 from me . As someone who has worked at heights, I was constantly saying , they wouldn’t do this  , they wouldn’t do that .

I don’t like heights. Takes me all my time to climb a step ladder,  so I can’t comment on what they shouldn’t have done.  Actually I think I was over generous when I gave the film a 6/10.

'High Society' Grace Kelly, Bing Crosby 1956 film.

Remake of 1940 'Philadelphia Story' with Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn, which was better.

God, I love old films...

Waterloo Bridge ( Vivien Leigh) (Robert Taylor).   Goodbye Mr Chips ( Robert Donat ).    Come Next Spring, ( Steve Cochran).    Bells of St Mary's, ( Ingrig Bergman ).   Four real tear jerkers, Have a box of tissues at the ready.
