Flanker7 Posted December 12, 2014 Share Posted December 12, 2014 2001 A Space Odyssey - You could tell in the first 2 minutes why the frigging thing lasted two and a half hours (150mins) . . . . . at that point there were still no pictures. But, there were the classic scenes and long silences which were still incredibly beautiful, gripping and hadn't dated after all these years. I was surprised to realise that the HAL bit was a sub plot which had nowt to do with the rest of the film. But, currently quite relevant due to the Artificial Intelligence debate.
