Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I know it's meant to be really good, but I just couldn't get into it.

Swedish version or American version?

John Wick - 8.5/10 - Keanu Reeves back on form after a string of duff films.

The American version. Is the Swedish one better?

It might not be to your taste if you couldn't get into the US version but the Swedish original with Noomi Rapace as Lisbeth is better IMO. The US version made some changes to the plot which weakened Lisbeth as a character in order to big up Daniel Craig's role.

The Treatment - 8.5/10

An extremely dark and disturbing film based on the book of the same name by Mo Hayder.

Going clear: Scientology and the prison of belief. Ok it's a documentary but it's two hours long so it's going here. It's a pretty one sided documentary but it raises some interesting points. The key one being scientologists are bat **** crazy and it's a very very shady organisation. Worth a watch though 8/10

The Visit 6.5/10

M Night Shyamalan kind of gets back to what he is good at- had gone off his films after a series of duffs. This is a decent chiller with some twists.

Southpaw 7.5/10

Not a blip on Rocky but a decent flick with Jake Glynhall giving a good performance- got in great shape for the film so credit to him.

Kingsman was cinematic fast food. Vaguely satisfying, but leaves you feeling hungry for something more substantial. And a drink.

Escape from New York.

8/10 - Seminal. Carpenter directs ~

Kurt Russell (wearing an eye-patch)

Lee Van Cleef

Ernest Borgnine

Donald Pleasence

Isaac Hayes

& Harry Dean Stanton
