TORONTONY
A 13 year old film but I watched it for about the 3rd time recently and it is one of the better films of the last 15 years, in my opinion Road to Perdition, starring Tom Hanks, Paul Newman, Daniel Craig and Jude Law, and they are all bad guys. 9/
Cyclone
Speaking of Tom Hanks Bridge of Spies - 6/10 - Really quite good. Although not my usual kind of film. A few reviews for Everest higher up, my brother-in-law is in it, although most of his speaking scenes were cut :-(
top4718
Aliens - 9/10 - Not seen it for years but it's still a classic, one of the best action films of all time. The Grand Budapest Hotel - 6/10 - It looks beautiful, its well acted and funny in places but not really my thing. The Yakuza - 6/10 - Regarded as a bit of a "lost" 70's classic, Robert Mitchum is great in the lead role but its a bit too ponderous at times. Talking of great movies from the past,I pulled out one of my favourites last night i.e. The Motorcycle Diaries. It is all about Che Guevarra and a friend taking this old Norton from Argentina to Venezuela up the West coast of South America. What he sees on the trip steers his career as a doctor to the revolutionary we all know of. It is in Spanish with sub titles, but don't let that put you off. 9/10. top4718
Selma - 6/10 - Well made but a little over wrought and Oscar baiting. Amy - 8/10 - Whilst not really a fan of Winehouse this doc is excellent although quite dark and very sad.

Cyclone
Sisters. 8/10 Wasn't expecting much, but it was hilarious. Great for anyone aged 30 - 45 I'd suggest.
JFKvsNixon
A Most Wanted Man. Once again a John le Carre novel is adapted into an intense and intelligent thriller. Philip Seymour Hoffman in his last leading role before his death puts in a typically smart, subtle, and steadily absorbing performance.
top4718
Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue Of Ignorance) - 6/10 - A stunning looking film, the cinematography is excellent but its easier to admire than to like.
Phanerothyme
The Breakfast Club. 5/7. Hughes' best one I think, stands up really well after 30 years.
