Kissing etiquette

I don't think so. A kiss on the cheek or a hug would have been more appropriate in that situation.

I know we have become less formal and more tactile as a nation, I'm all for that, but we have to know the boundaries and not send out mixed signals.

 

I wonder if she'd have kissed on the lips if an OH had been there, or if a woman had kissed her OH on the lips

 

best not to be too over-friendly imo

Probably not, I don't know, because I don't think the OP has said whether her OH was present.

He did say she was merry at the time, so she probably regretted it later.

 

I suppose she will have realised after, that it made him feel uncomfortable, hopefully it will not have affected a good friendship.
