Classic Rock Posted February 26, 2004 Share Posted February 26, 2004 I think it's something to do about us all originating from being in a pack (of animals), so when it is time to sleep we send the signal out that the rest of the herd should sleep too and we all wind down together and rest together. Is the same with coughing during public entertainment, such as cinema, theatre or gigs. As soon as one person coughs everyone else joins in!
