Falls Posted March 6, 2006 Share Posted March 6, 2006 For the un-enlightened, Smithfield Market was held on a piece of land bounded by, in a clockwise direction: The River Don, The Royal Victoria Station Hotel, The approach to Victoria Station and Blonk's Street. The old works of the Sheffield Testing Company (before they moved to Nursery Street) occupied a corner of the property. It ended-up being a stockyard for Osborne's or Balfours or somebody.
