truman
That just looks like a cable outlet..have you taken the front off to have a look what's behind it..?
heavenlyarts
Looks like a cable outlet....... for a cooker oven, taking 13amp heatproof round cable. If so and active then behind it will be a terminal block

It's either an old socket for an electric shaver, or a bird box for the world's smallest bird ... the wasp. Common sense sides with the latter, but I may, although unlikely, be wrong. JackK0
Haha it is actually really strange how it is close to the floor I thought it might be for a shaver but you would have had the socket higher. Behind the wall there is a switch with a fuse next to is the says 'BS 1362 fuse' I don't no if it will be a heater because there was a light heater in there when we moved in 26 years ago and there is already a heating duct in there too. Also I have not taken the front off always been like that. thanks
DeathAxe
We had weird sockets before the refit, I think they where for heaters.

Just looks like an older version of this..https://www.1stopelectrics.com/img/product/XSFOW/0/0x0/XSFOW%2B1.jpg
