GrannyGranny
No mention of a diesel version on the website, just 1.2 and 0.9 twinair. Just unusual not to have a low oil warning light on a new car.
boyfriday
No mention of a diesel version on the website, just 1.2 and 0.9 twinair. That's interesting, it must be already discontinued. http://www.whatcar.com/car-reviews/chrysler/ypsilon-hatchback/1-3-multijet-se-s-s-5dr/summary/64162 Just unusual not to have a low oil warning light on a new car. I agree Granny, and it's been very costly her discovering that omission! ---------- Post added 14-02-2014 at 11:33 ---------- electro hydraulic valves in these cars,(multi-air) require oil pressure to function, low oil pressure because of no oil = valve failure. Thanks mg16, she's had the vehicle moved to an independent who say it's repairable, and doesn't need a complete new engine. The dealer was quoting £6k for a new engine (fitted), so any saving will be significant hopefully! Needless to say it's left her with a sour impression of the dealer, having bought her last 3 new cars from them.

boyfriday
Just to update, the car's back from the garage (independent) and apparently running better than ever having been repaired (new engine not required). Cost of repairs, including recovery from the main dealer £1000, the dealer (who she bought the car from) wanted to replace the engine for the princely sum of £6000..needless to say she'll be pursuing things further!
