mg16 Posted February 13, 2014 Share Posted February 13, 2014 this maybe of interest to you. Ford in 2001 issued a bulletin on overheating 1.4L and 1.6l Zetec engines. Bulletin TSB 005/2001 which was updated by bulletin no.5 dated 17th may 2001. The fix involves new expansion tank and cap, new 74degree thermostat and new coolant hoses to splice into exisiting. Also with a rough idea as to cost. Many thanks in advance. bought one new off e bay took 20 mins to fit it save front off old one though coz it has to be fitted to new housing!
