Would you expect sanctuary here at home?

What about having a pop at the Koreans or the Saudis? I don't need to put links to these heinous activities, as they are all freely available to research on line, so no, let's not have a pop at the Muslims. Let's look at the world, and compare it to the UK, as said in the OP.

This isn't an opportunity for you to get your back up over how other countries and cultures handle their affairs. It's about how we handle ours, so please keep your race cards in your pocket, as you've totally missed the point.

So why mention, or compare the activities of the UK to 'other countries', unless you believe the race card you're playing trumps all others?

No you have missed the point. Most of my point was about how we conduct our affairs. Only the last paragraph was about any other countries and was in direct response to a quote you made.

Our history is shameful compared to nearly every other country in the world.

You are spot on with one thing charmer. The word "History"

The problem is other countries laws aren't just in the history book, they are happening today, whereas British past is still there. Still in the past. That gives credence that we are a moderate country, where our history no longer belongs.

You cannot say that Britain today is anything like its cruel past.

Because we don't do the things quoted, that's why.

Dont you celebrate our past or are you selective about which bits you deem worthy of commemoration? Maybe the people you're being critical of dont wish to be part of the hypocrisy you alluded to earlier?

We don't wear lederhosen either but they're all absolutely irrelevant to the point you're highlighting.

Of course you are selective of which parts of your past you want to commemorate. That isn't hypocritical, that's normal. The issue was we don't practice evils of the past, nor commemorate them. Do the Germans celebrate hitlers birthday? No, they don't. Was stoning introduced in our lifetime? No it wasn't. But it's still practiced, so what the hell are you on about?

If you are going to get involved, read the OP first, then comment. Don't just jump in with horse crap.

The OP was poorly conceived, you had a point to make which was noteworthy, but chose to conflate it with a myriad of other, irrelevant issues, then criticised people for pointing it out to you.

It's normally the other issues that upset others, for Easton's only known to them. The point was, the world should come second to the people that pay for this country, which is you and me.

It's really not an issue with anything other than a wanting for our children to reap the benefits before an outsider.

I personally am not a racist nor a sympathizer, but I believe that the multiculturalism that the UK is now signed up to, and the intervention of our constitution by Brussels, is sickening to say the very least,

What is it about our multicultural nature you find sickening exactly?

It does though, much as you and UKIP like to claim otherwise. Around 1% of annual governmental spending is spent on "international development" - a pot of money that is primarily spent to raise the awareness of the UK and attract foreign interest. That money is mostly spent to bring more revenue to the UK government and businesses, not for the thrill of giving it away.

Over 98% of our annual budget is spent on the people who pay for this country.

I've traveled a lot in my life and lived in a lot of different country's and seen how they live, this little country of ours is the best place to live by far,the freest safest country in the world to live be proud to be British,as for the foreigners coming here they have been coming here for centuries Danes Vikings Jews Polish Chinese Pakistanis Indians West Indians and the latest influx of Romas all coming here looking for a better life just to many here now enough is enough, we are the envy of the world a stable country where you can get on with your life in freedom free from persecution where you can have a decent standard of healthy life.there are a lot of things that annoy me about this country but I would not live anywhere else..

And yet we still run a budget deficit, having to borrow £billions to pay for everything.
