grandma1
Went to Tesco car boot this morning - quite busy, but shame about it raining twice!! Not what the weather forecast was supposed to be! ---------- Post added 15-06-2014 at 14:57 ---------- Did anyone go to the car boot at Hillsborough Arena today? Was it busy, both sellers and buyers? What time do sellers have to arrive there? Not been to that one before.

I was selling at hillsborough today, very dissapionted, it was full with sellers, but due to the rain, buyers trickled in and out, we had about 10 mins of being busy, i went there for the sake of making 25 quid. ended up leaving at 11am, so much for the weather forcast

Went to both car boots out of the two of them the Arena one was better, a lot more sellers, as buyers we were there about 7.15 a lot more were standing than actually walking round but that was due to weather not being the same as forecast. SmartMarts
We went as sellers to Chesterfield FC yesterday. What an absolute shambles the organisation is. The trouble is the stewards have so many favourites/regular dealers who want the same spot each week, us mere mortals who get there early to ensure a pitch are passing empty spaces to get put at the back of beyond and those turning up later have prime position on the natural flow of foot traffic. We and another 3 cars complained to the stewards about this when they attempted to block us with cars parked lengthways (more trading space) in front of us, thus preventing anyone other than those waking in single file and pramless from getting near our stalls. They were at a loss of what to do and "Mr Chief Steward Tabard" hastily walked away and left a young lad to explain to us that all this was due to having to place 3 hot food vans in specific places. It was nothing of the sort. We finally got that sorted out and then some gob****e of a bloke who had obviously enjoyed his lie in presumably after the football the night before, roll up on his pushbike at after 9am to his wife's stall just to the side of us and got a load of records boxes out of her car, spread them on a sheet well to the side of her pitch and in front of ours. The woman next to us was funnelled into a corner by this complained but the bloke wouldn't listen and just shouted her down as arrogant gits like this do and the stewards were obviously his chums as they spent most of the rest of the morning discussing vinyl with him. We did have a good day as it happens, but only because we stood our ground and wouldn't be herded into a corner. We paid the same as everyone else so be warned and don't stand for being treated less fairly than others
